Whitemyer Advertising has announced the winners of the 2010 Zoar Art Competition and Exhibition held in conjunction with the annual Zoar Harvest Festival on August 7 and 8. The $1,000 Best of Show Award, dedicated to the late Edna Lueking, a Zoar descendant who helped found the first Zoar Harvest Festival, was awarded to Jack Mulhollen of Silver Lake, Ohio for a watercolor entitled "No Cheese Today".

Other winners include Diane Granger of Minerva, Ohio who received the $500 Frederick Gottwald Award for best Oil Painting, Wanda Montgomery of Canton, Ohio who was awarded the $500 Ora Koltman Watercolor Award, and Jim Filkorn and Rosemary Tope, both of Bolivar, Ohio who were awarded $100 Best Drawings and Sketches Awards. The $500 Scott Whitemyer Memorial Student Award was presented to Rebecca Roth of Uhrichsville, Ohio. The annual competition was created to revitalize a fine art contest as the centerpiece of the popular Zoar festival and is open to all artists regardless of geography, but must feature subjects or scenes from Zoar. More than $22,000 has been awarded to contest participants over the past nine years.
